RE: RATES AND/OR FORMS UPDATE - Updated Filing

Dear Associates:

Stewart Title Guaranty Company is filing an amended Schedule of Charges and Forms for Title Insurance in the State of California ("Manual"). This Manual is pending California Department of Insurance approval, anticipated to become effective on January 14, 2019; please post as required. Attached are the links for your convenience. (Click here to view a copy of the “Redline” and the “Accepted” versions). There are no substantive changes to the rates that became effective November 26, 2018. 

In this new filing anticipated to be effective January 14, 2019, Stewart Title Guaranty Company is only clarifying the original intent of Section 1.26 Special Discounted Title Premiums to only apply to owner’s title insurance premiums on owner-occupied, 1-4 family residences calculated on the applicable title premium amount. No other changes are being made to the existing Manual that became effective November 26, 2018.

Additionally, please note that “active military” is intended to include active members of the following U.S. military service branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, and Marine Corps; and also includes any active Reserve members and any active National Guard members.
