Before closing a transaction, all issuing offices must search the names of the parties to the transaction, including the seller, buyer/borrower, payoff lender and new lender, using the Special Alerts database. Go to the Special Alerts database to search for specific names, entities and properties.

This Bulletin is to advise you, in accordance with Stewart Title Guaranty Company's ("Stewart") Anti-Fraud Plan, that the FDIC, on December 13, 2000, issued Special Alert No. FIL-86-2000. According to the FDIC's Alert, in circulation are counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on USABankShares.com, Philadelphia, PA and may be circulating on the East Coast of the United States. Also in circulation are counterfeit cashier's checks drawn on the Pan American Bank, Chicago, Illinois. Merchants & Farmers Bank of Dumas, Dumas, Arkansas has reported cashier's checks missing and presumed stolen. Finally, Security Bank, Sioux Falls, South Dakota has reported counterfeit cashier's checks in circulation.
