Murder
If the records (such as an indictment) reflect that a person who succeeds to an interest by death of an owner murdered or may have murdered the owner, you must require a judicial determination of ownership. Do not make any allegations based on local gossip or notoriety. For example, you should make this requirement if a person dies intestate or testate (and a distributee may have murdered the decedent), or if a surviving joint tenant or tenant by the entireties may have murdered the decedent.
