Explanation:

This deed form is provided for convenience purposes only.  All deeds in Illinois are legal documents and must be prepared by a licensed attorney.  They may be self-prepared by a party to the deed under the Pro Se doctrine.  “Pro Se” is to act as one’s own attorney without legal counsel.

Underwriting Requirements:

1)      Confirm the deed was prepared by a licensed attorney or self-prepared by a party to the document.

2)     Confirm the deed is in recordable format for the county where the property is located.

3)     Confirm the deed states the name of both grantor and grantee.

Any revision to this form requires approval of a Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriter. The underwriting guidelines contained herein have been provided for general reference. The facts, circumstances, and location of the subject property should be considered when determining the issuance of the requested form or endorsement. Please note that all of the forms and endorsements included in this system may not be available in all states. Accordingly, please contact the appropriate Stewart Title Guaranty Company underwriting personnel in order to determine availability.

Compliance with the underwriting guidelines contained herein in no way obligates Stewart Title Guaranty Company to issue any form or endorsement.
