RE: UNDERWRITING - Vacant or Abandoned Property Registration Fees

Dear Associates:

Please be advised that Property Registration Champions (ProChamps) has filed for liquidation. ProChamps is a third-party servicer which assists mortgage banks, title holders and other legally identified parties to meet time sensitive compliance deadlines for property registration programs across the country. The company specializes in assisting responsible parties to avoid unnecessary fines and penalties related to registration compliance with local authorities or municipalities, which also includes vacant or abandoned property registration fees in New Jersey.

If your municipal tax search discloses any notes pertaining to vacant or abandoned property registration fees, you must contact the municipality to confirm the status of this lien. As a result of the recent news involving ProChamps, we have received notice that the company may not be reachable by phone or e-mail or may not be responsive to any requests by their consumers. Therefore, all inquiries regarding vacant or abandoned property registration fees must be resolved directly with the municipality. If no resolution can be reached regarding the status or payment of this fee, then the following exception must be added to all title commitments and policies.
