According to several sources, the NYC Courts online judgment and lien search system does not reflect judgments and liens received on or after December 8, 2023. We further understand that NYC has temporarily shut down the system, preventing online searching.
Until the system is restored, all searches and contins for judgments and liens must be run in each of the counties comprising NYC in-person, which system we are told remains up to date. However, we do not know if the in-person system will also be taken down by the City as they work to resolve the issue. Accordingly, when searching in person, please first confirm (or have your vendor do so) that the system remains intact and up to date.
Finally, once online search capability returns, please do not assume, but rather verify, that there remains no gap in the records between December 8 and the date of resumption of service.
