The purpose of this Bulletin is to modify Bulletins 672 and 672a issued because of the cyber incident reported by the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office on September 8, 2022.
While the County continues to respond to the cyber incident, ongoing realities have forced Stewart to further amend its underwriting guidelines for all transactions in Suffolk County, New York. Stewart intends to take each transaction on a case-by-case basis, Accordingly, all transactions in Suffolk County, New York must be submitted to Stewart underwriting for review and approval. Please use the Request for Policy Approval form and send to the following email address. HighLiPolicy@stewart.com
Written approval will contain the conditions specifically tailored to each transaction. The conditions may include additional exceptions, requirements, and additional non-traditional searches. It is suggested that your offices immediately notify any proposed insured and their representatives on open files, so that the additional underwriting conditions will not be a surprise.
