Dear Associates:

Please be advised that the RTF-1 and RTF-1EE forms have been updated by the State of New Jersey effective as of March 2, 2022. The changes relate to an addition of sections related to intercompany transfers and combined group members that file a New Jersey combined return. Please make sure to update your form directories and always use the most current forms for all transactions.

• The RTF-1 now contains a new Section #8 and corresponding Paragraph #15 in the Instructions Page.
• The RTF-1EE now contains a new Section #2(B) and corresponding Paragraph #13 in the Instructions Page.

As stated in both new forms, transfers of real property that are intercompany transfers between combined group members filing a New Jersey combined return as part of the unitary business of the combined group are exempt from the grantor and grantee fees. Transfers must indicate the combined group NU identification number assigned by the Division of Taxation. If the NU number has not been assigned for any reason, then the RTF must be paid and a refund may be applied for under certain circumstances. Please review the Instruction Sections of both forms for full details.
