Dear Associates:

CT MUNICIPAL RECORDING FEE INCREASE

EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 2017

Recently-enacted Senate Bill 1502 contains an increase in CT municipal recording charges affecting various land records filings. The CT Town Clerk's Association has issued a memo detailing a new recording fee structure effective December 1, 2017, as follows:

Deeds (Consideration > $2,000.00)
$62.00 for the first page + $5.00 for each additional page

Other Docs (Incl. Deeds w/Consideration ≤ $2,000.00)
$60.00 for the first page + $5.00 for each additional page

MERS Mortgages
$159.00 for the first page + $5.00 for each additional page

Assignments/Releases by MERS
$159.00 for the entire document

Foreclosed Property Registrations
$60.00 for the entire document

All Stewart agents are advised to take account of the increase for documents to be recorded on or after December 1, 2017. Should the foregoing be revised by further legislative action or guidance from the Town Clerk’s Association, we will notify you immediately.
