RE: SPECIAL ALERT - Bogus Form DR-15 from the “Philadelphia Deeds & Registry Office”

Dear Associates:

This Special Alert advises you of a scam being perpetrated on recent purchasers of real property in the City of Philadelphia.

Some recent purchasers of property in Philadelphia have been receiving “Form DR-15” purportedly from the “Philadelphia Deeds & Registry Office”. The purchaser is being requested to fill out the form and send the sum of $227.50 in order for the deed to be fully processed and returned to them.

This form is not legitimate. It was not sent by the Philadelphia Department of Records. Upon the payment of the prescribed fees at the time of recording in Philadelphia, no additional fees are required to be paid in order for a deed to be processed and returned to the new owner.

If you are contacted by customers receiving this form or any other similar form, please advise the customer to contact the Philadelphia Department of Records at (215) 686-1483.
