Please be advised that the Nebraska Land Title Examination Standards have been revised, effective October 3, 2013, and are in publication.
Among other elements of the Title Standards are amendments reflecting recently effective legislative changes to Nebraska law governing Powers of Attorney, Transfer on Death Deeds, Succession to Real Property by Affidavit, and Limited Liability Companies.
While Title Standards are extremely valuable and useful tools for use by the title agent, please remember that many situations encountered by the title agent are fact-sensitive. Agents are reminded to contact Stewart underwriting personnel whenever questions arise, and especially in transactions involving high liability and/or hazardous risks.
Copies of the Title Standards can be obtained for a nominal fee. Nebraska attorneys who have access to Casemaker® can access the Title Standards on-line.
