Steven J. Baum has sent out a letter stating that, as of November 21, 2011, his office is ending all attorney client relationships.
You may not accept any payoff letter, undertaking to discontinue an action, or any other correspondence concerning an ongoing foreclosure action from Baum’s office. This applies to letters already received.
No payoff is to be sent to Baum’s office, regardless of the payee.
Baum has stated all cases will be turned over to new counsel. Until such time as you are notified of new counsel, you may only accept payoff letters, make payoffs, and get an action cancelled by the lender. If lender is not the plaintiff of record, you must receive proof that the lender has the authority to bind the foreclosing bank.
