Rebating
Dear Associates:
The Louisiana Commissioner of Insurance has issued a bulletin concerning rebates and the referral of title insurance transactions. Although rebating is primarily part of the escrow business of a title insurance agent, an activity not covered by our underwriting agreements, it is an important issue and we believe that you should be aware of the bulletin.
Accordingly, we have attached a copy of the Commissioner’s Bulletin to this Stewart bulletin. Please read carefully and take the time to understand it.
