Dear Associates:
Recently the City of Philadelphia, Streets Department, has enacted new regulations (authorized under Bill 090780-amending Chapter 10-700 "Refuse and Littering" attached) setting a $150 annual fee for municipal collection of trash against all commercial properties and multi-dwellings of 2-6 units. The bills just came out and are due August 15, 2010. Unpaid liabilities will result in a fine of $500 and will be filed against the property as a lien. Because the charge is for municipal service, the priority of such lien may predate our insurance policy.
After August 15, 2010, you may check the status of any unpaid bill by sending the address of the property to the Streets Department fax 215-686-7812.
The bill for 2011 will be due January 1, 2011.
