By Mortgagee Letter 2010-39 dated November 19, 2010, HUD announced new required Closing Certifications which must be attached to the HUD-1 Settlement Statements for FHA Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECM) transactions. The precise language of the required Closing Certifications appears on the Attachment to the Mortgagee Letter 2010-39.

The Attachment to Mortgagee Letter 2010-39 sets forth the exact language of the required Closing Certifications and can be obtained at

The new Certification language must be used for all HECM case numbers assigned on or after December 1, 2010.
