Please be advised that it is the Company's underwriting position not to insure "tax titles" in Michigan. Please secure approval from the Michigan Legal Department or a Senior Underwriter to insure title to property where the owner's/borrower's title interest emanates from a tax foreclosure or tax deed in the chain of title. Please also note that we shall no longer accept tax Certifications produced by a tax title search service/vendor that purport to certify the validity of the tax foreclosure process as the basis of insuring title in Michigan. This Bulletin replaces all previously issued Michigan bulletins on this topic.
