Before closing a transaction, all issuing offices must search the names of the parties to the transaction, including the seller, buyer/borrower, payoff lender and new lender, using the Special Alerts database.  Go to the Special Alerts database to search for specific names, entities and properties.

RE: Closing Alert - Nevada State Bank Checks

Dear Associates:

We have received a courtesy notice direct from Nevada State Bank, advising of a current problem with checks in the amount of $8,500.00.According to representatives of the Bank,there are counterfeit Nevada State Bank official checks being circulated all over the country.The checksidentified by the bank are each in the amount of$8,500.00 and vary in serial number and account number. It appears the remitter is usually "Charles Collins" but that information may change.

The payees have been reporting that they received the check as part of a lottery winningor from thesale of an item on the Internet.

Do not close any transactions with checks from Nevada State Bank in the amount of $8,500.00 without first contactingTeresa Shouppe at the following number:
