Prepayment of TP-584
The New York State Land Title Association has received notice that, starting last Friday (3/2), the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, citing privacy concerns, will no longer return a receipt for prepayment attached to a copy of the TP-584 to a title company or agent.
Until this is rectified, it is recommended that the TP-584 not be prepaid as the receipt and copy of the TP-584 will be unavailable to attach to the deed when submitting for recording.
The NYSLTA is working to have this clarified and/or changed. We will keep you apprised of any developments.
