RE: A) Wayne County Mortgage Tax Increase B) Albany County Mortgage Tax Increase C) Rate Calculator

A) Wayne County has enacted the local law necessary to implement the increase in mortgage tax as authorized by state statute earlier this year. Effective October 1, 2005, the total mortgage tax for properties located in Wayne County will be one dollar and twenty five cents per one hundred dollars of debt secured, or 1.25% of the mortgage amount.

B) Albany County has enacted the local law necessary to implement the increase in mortgage tax as authorized by state statute earlier this year. Effective November 1, 2005, the total mortgage tax for properties located in Albany County will be one dollar and twenty five cents per one hundred dollars of debt secured, or 1.25% of the mortgage amount.

C) We apologize for the confusion created by the recent change of the internet address of our rate calculator. In case you had not noticed, when we moved the rate calculator from its former location, we left no forwarding address and attempts to visit that site were met with the dreaded message: " The Page Cannot Be Displayed".

For future reference, the rate calculator may now be found on the internet at http://www.stewartstar.com/rc/
