RE: 1998 New York City Tax Lien Sale - June 15, 1998

Dear Associates:

A memo has been received from S.J. Carroll, Jr. Inc. which advises that the next New York City tax lien sale will occur on June 15, 1998. A copy is available from the New York City Office. Please not that payments must be made on or before June 12, 1998 to avoid the lien sale. The memo further suggests that such payments be made by certified check and "walked through" so that an official receipt can be obtained. This could be very valuable to you at some later date, should the City fail to expeditiously remove the property from the sale.

The memo also contains an update on several other tax issues which may impact on a title in which you are involved.

We have also received a 56 page list from Abstractors Information Services, Inc. which identifies all of the properties, by Block and Lot number, which have been noticed for the June 15th tax sale. The list has been given to Paul Prinzivalli in the White Plains office and Jim Hyland in our Nassau office. If you have any question as to whether a parcel has been included in the tax sale, please contact Paul, Jim or the myself and we will review the list for you.

Should you have any questions regarding this bulletin, please contact Company Counsel.
