Funding of Risk Premium By Lenders
Dear Associates:
The Department of Insurance has put out a one-page statement regarding the funding of risk premium by lenders.
The concern on the part of the Department is that with the procedure being followed by some lenders and title agents, a title policy is being issued before the premium for that policy is received. The Department requires that a policy be paid for before being issued.
Your attention is directed to a copy of the Department's position, which is available through the Florida State Office.
