RE: Judgments of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of the Dist. of Columbia

Dear Associates:

On October 3, 1994 the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of the District of Columbia began operation out of the new Federal Courthouse located in Greenbelt, District of Columbia.

Greenbelt is located in Prince George's County.

Under CJ Section 11-402(b) of the Annotated Code of District of Columbia, a judgment of U.S. District Court constitutes a lien against the real property of the defendant(s)/debtor(s) located in the county in which the judgment was entered.

We have concluded that judgments rendered by the U.S. District Court sitting at Greenbelt constitute a lien against real property of any defendant(s)/debtor(s) located in Prince George's County the same as any judgment rendered by the Circuit Court for Prince George's County.

Effective immediately all title examinations performed on properties in Prince George's County will include a search of the judgment and other records (RICO forfeitures, criminal fines, etc.) of the U.S. District Court sitting at Greenbelt and all judgments and other liens entered by that court must be either cleared or excepted to if Stewart is to insure title.

All questions and requests for clarity will be referred to the undersigned.
